Groups
International Medical Relief offers once-in-a-lifetime short-term medical missions for groups of all types. Some examples of partners we work with include professional, hospital, corporate, and student groups. Our programs take you behind the scenes of international medicine practices in a clinic setting that will cement your team’s passion for healthcare service.
In partnership with International Medical Relief, your team has the opportunity to gain hands-on patient care and knowledge in the field with experienced medical providers. Through a tailored combination of mentorship, observation, and tutorial, IMR’s clinic-based medical and dental missions offer a unique insight into the rewards and demands of a medical career. IMR provides short-term opportunities throughout the year and can customize programs based on cost and timeframe. We take care of all logistical arrangements so you can focus on the experience for your group.
This unique opportunity is comprehensive and positions you to offer a turnkey program with little effort. Your team can be assembled, educated, and sent into the field exclusively or in collaboration with IMR-licensed medical providers to help those most in need. Many corporate groups travel with us as a reward for their valued employees, as a recruiting and retention tool, or as a way to involve their employees’ families in a demanding career schedule and help build the future generations in multi-generational medical and dental families. School groups, including pre-health career clubs, foreign language clubs, public health clubs, and service clubs, join IMR to gain service hours (approximately 75 hours per mission can be earned!), build resumes, and obtain hands-on experience in a professional and professionally run mobile clinic setting. Choose from among our many locations and select the time of year that best fits your schedule.

But imagine there were no options. Imagine you had no soap to wash your hands or hot water to wash your clothes in. Imagine you were left at an orphanage with nothing, not even a memory of your mother.
Our small group of 11 volunteers would set up clinic as the children all ran over, eager to see what the “new people” had. The biggest hit: soap and water. The children laughed and smiled as they got their hands all soapy while we sang songs about hand hygiene. We thought we were teaching them life’s most valuable and sustainable lessons. We didn’t realize they were teaching us far more greater lessons. Empathy, compassion, joy, love.
My hope is that just one of these children remember me. It doesn’t have to be my name or the way I looked but I want them to know that they mattered to someone. I always thought I’d change someone’s life as a nurse but I never realized my life could change so quickly by a group of children I may never see again.
People often ask why I would volunteer overseas when I could volunteer in America. Until you’ve seen the smile of an elderly woman who can finally see after she tries on glasses, heard the laughter of a child seeing bubbles for the first time, felt the warm hugs from a group of orphans just grateful you were there… you may never understand.

Thank you to the people of Haiti for filling my heart with so much gratitude and reassuring me that this is what I am meant to do. Thank you to International Medical Relief for allowing us to provide care for over 1,000 citizens and allowing me to work with an amazing crew! Until next time.
My heart is truly so full and I am so thankful I was able to be a part of this team. The team was made up of 42 amazing people from all over the U.S. The people of Kenya were absolutely wonderful and so kind and gracious. We were able to help 1,377 patients on this mission!!
If anyone is considering a mission mission, I hope you will consider International Medical Relief. I definitely hope to do more missions for sure and I will never forget this mission of a lifetime.
Together we have triaged, diagnosed, prescribed for, and treated over 600 patients in just three days, and will continue for a few more days. We’ve seen everything from malaria, infectious wounds, amebiasis, tuberculosis… to appendicitis, sepsis, and splenomegaly.
All with the help of some skilled, hardworking translators.
It’s been exhausting but rewarding, and one of the few times in life I’m eager to wake up and start the day.
It never ceases to amaze me how great of an impact people can have when we come together for a unified mission. I mean, our team was just a bunch of strangers that all gathered in one place, with one goal: to serve and give to the people of Haiti.
How amazing!
To give selflessly is truly the GREATEST experience of being human. Thank you to IMR for being an organization that strives to make a difference in this world.
