Overview
The Need
Colorado’s young people are ready to make a difference—but they need opportunities, mentorship, and meaningful ways to serve.
Today’s youth are growing up in an increasingly connected world, yet many lack opportunities to engage directly with communities beyond their own. Service creates a bridge between awareness and action, helping young people understand the challenges others face while discovering their own capacity to lead, contribute, and create change.
Through hands-on service and mentorship, IMR provides Colorado youth with opportunities to:
- Discover their purpose through service and understand the power of giving back.
- Build leadership, teamwork, and communication skills through real-world experiences.
- Learn from healthcare professionals and experienced volunteers who model compassion, resilience, and global citizenship.
- Connect local action to global impact, seeing firsthand how their efforts help prepare medical care and resources for communities around the world.
- Imagine themselves as future changemakers—in healthcare, humanitarian work, education, and beyond.
The need is not only for more volunteers. It is for more young people who understand that they have the power to serve, lead, and make a difference.

Our Work
IMR is committed to serving—and learning—year-round.
Global health education doesn’t happen only in the field. Throughout the year, International Medical Relief welcomes schools, universities, community groups, and individual volunteers to our offices and Sorting Center for hands-on experiences that connect local action to global impact.
From preparing medical supplies and processing eyeglasses to learning about global health, health equity, and humanitarian service, every experience helps build informed, compassionate global citizens.
Because service is more than what we do—it’s what we inspire others to become.
This Mission
Each year, International Medical Relief welcomes local students to our Sorting Center to experience global health in action through our Global Citizenship Academy.
This year, we’re expecting 300 students—and we need IMR volunteers to help make their experience meaningful, inspiring, and impactful!
Why Your Volunteer Role Matters:
You are the example. Students learn what it means to serve by working alongside people who do it every day.
You connect local service to global impact. Sorting supplies, preparing medical kits, and processing eyeglasses may happen in Loveland—but these efforts help care reach communities around the world.
You help build global citizens. SERVE Day gives students a firsthand understanding of compassion, health equity, teamwork, and the importance of giving back.
You create meaningful connections. Your stories and experiences can inspire students to see themselves as future volunteers, healthcare professionals, leaders, and changemakers.
You make global missions possible. Every supply sorted, mission kit packed, and pair of eyeglasses processed helps IMR prepare to deliver health and hope where it is needed most.

Minimum Donation
Your generous donation of $1 will go toward the ongoing global relief to care for the underserved and vulnerable people of this community. As a member of this medical mission team, you will elevate the long-term impact of sustainable, capacity-building efforts that improve the health, wellness, and quality of life of those most in need. A small portion of your donation includes:
- Clinic supplies and medications for patients
- Clinic participation
- Transportation, accommodations, and meals as outlined in the itinerary
Donation Payment Deadlines
$1 due by July 4, 2026
$1 due by September 4, 2026
Early Bird Savings Opportunity
To be eligible, the participant must upload ALL your required documents and forms, sign their liability form and make your 50% donation including your $35 application fee by July 4, 2026. This savings opportunity does not apply to disaster relief missions.

Your Donation to IMR for Your Mission Cost Includes:
All group costs from the time you arrive at the team meeting point in country until you separate from the team or when the team arrives at the departure airport, including:
- Transportation
- Lodging (except for Colorado missions, disaster missions, or as otherwise mentioned in the trip itinerary)
- Costs associated with the clinic
- Food
- Tips for services provided to the IMR team
- All logistics, including translation services and security as needed
Additional Costs That You Are Responsible For:
All group costs from the time you arrive at the team meeting point in country until you separate from the team or when the team arrives at the departure airport, including:
- International and Domestic flights to the country.
- Passport fees, visa fees, and transit fees, including baggage or overnight accommodations/meals while in transit
- Required or recommended insurance
- Vaccinations and medications common for travel
- Spending money for souvenirs and personal purchases
- Required or desired mission supplies, personal equipment, or small gifts for the special people you meet
- Any lodging, meals, and transportation outside of the scheduled team mission, payable at the time of service to the local vendor
- COVID-related fees such as testing, vaccinations, and quarantines as required by in-country arrival/departure or USA arrival/departure
- Each team member is responsible for carrying medical supplies for the deployment. All fees associated with transport are the responsibility of the volunteer.
