Depending on the needs of the community and the scope of a particular mission, pediatric volunteers may contribute to patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment, preventive care, health education, and collaboration with local healthcare professionals.

Long before volunteers arrive, IMR teams are working behind the scenes on logistics, clinic locations, transportation, accommodations, local partnerships, and the safety and security considerations specific to each destination.
Once in the field, volunteers serve as part of an organized IMR team with experienced leadership and local support.
